The Crown on Post Office Road in Alrewas, probably dates from the 17th Century. It's likely that an inn has stood on this site for much longer than that! Like many other village inns, this one had it's own malthouse and brewed it's own ale. In fact, The Crown used to house the local village post office right back from the days when the mail coach called there.
